Characters

The story takes place in a "futuristic" city that is constantly going under war.
Montag was a fireman.
His job was to burn down houses found to have books in them.
He enjoys his job a lot.

One night, he meets Clarisse, a girl which knows a lot more knowledge about life.
She changed the way Montag looked at the society by introducing him concepts that he never heard before.
That night, his wife swallowed an entire bottle of sleeping pills, attempting to commit suicide.
Montag rushes her into the hospital, and saves her.
Next day at work, he sees the Mechanical Hound threatening him.
The Mechanical Hound is a robot hound that can track smell, and kill their target.
He reports this to Beatty, and asks if the hound can think.
Beatty pities him, and said that it can only follow instructions.
Everyday after work, for 7 days, Clarisse told him about thoughts.
On the 8th day, Clarisse disappeared, and Montag was really uncomfortable.
The alarm rings.
He arrives in front of a woman's house to burn it down.
The woman refuse to leave.
He wonders what books contain that is worth dying for.
He took a book, and brought it home, even though it is illegal to do so.

Next day, Montag says he's sick and stayed home.
He showed Mildred his stolen book, but she thinks that Montag is crazy.
They were interrupted by Beatty, which came to visit Montag, and explained the history of books.

That day, they read many books.
But, was interrupted by Mechanical Hound.
Montag calls Faber, who said there were no copies of Bible, Shakespeare, and Plato left.
Faber agreed to help Montag, by making copies of the books that had been nearly wiped out from the world.
He gives Montag a "Green Bullet", a device for communicating between them.
Next day at work, he brought in substitute book to the workplace for Beatty, to burn.
Captain Beatty confuses Montag with contradictory quotes from the books, showing that literature is dangerous and dark.

Then, the alarm sounded, and they were headed to Montag's house.
Montag was given a flamethrower to burn down his own house.

He does so, but Beatty founds out about the "Green Bullet", and slaps Montag to the ground.
Montag became furious, and killed Beatty with the flamethrower.
He runs to Faber's house, giving him some money to help him.
Meanwhile, a Mechanical Hound was sent out to track the scent of Montag.
Faber gives some old clothes to Montag, to confuse the Mechanical Hound.
Montag reaches the river, and starts drifting downstream, while the Mechanical Hound searches blindly for the scent, finally giving up.
Montag follows a old railway track, and reaches a group of people.
Everyone in the group have a book memorized, to help the civilization once this crisis is over.
The Mechanical Hound frames an innocent man, and kills him, so that everyone in the city would feel safe.
Next day, a plane flies drops a bomb over the city, and completely destroys the city.

Montag and the group goes into the city, to rebuild this destroyed city.
